... The nurses and doctors foretold me all the risks that my premature baby may encounter, and it sounded like the worse situation imaginable. My baby was transferred to the NICU making me so frustrated at the sight of all the incubators, monitors and machinery. I was feeling out of control. I left the NICU crying, while losing all my spirit to those tears that I shed. Then Cathy Cunningham, RN, came into the picture one day while visiting my baby in the NICU. After one conversation, the whole picture changed for me as she calmly explained what was occurring with my baby. I felt so reassured suddenly. She had the most beautiful skills in making a frustrating experience for me so easy and wonderful.
