Our rock star nurse, Catherine, is a DAISY Nurse because she is literally the best nurse I have ever seen! Our family got the most devastating news that any family could get. Stage 3 (right now) lung cancer. So, our family was, needless to say, stressed, shocked, and upset were all an understatement.
Catherine was not only a great nurse but so comforting to all of us. She always checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. She took such great care of our sister! Our sister was in so much pain because her left lung was completely blocked by this mass. Catherine spent extra time with us explaining everything to us, pain meds, blood thinner, and so forth. When you get this kind of news, sometimes everything is a 'fog'. She was so patient, kind, comforting and extremely knowledgeable! I have never seen a nurse so compassionate as her. We felt like she was part of our family going through all of this stuff. Keeping us positive. She even clocked out of her shift and sat at the foot of my sister's bed and provided comfort. What a class act! I would highly recommend this hospital because of the amazing care that we have received here.
Please know what a valuable nurse you have in her. She is untouchable, what a sweetheart. She touched all of us.
