Cathy went out of her way today twice to help me with my diet. Cathy is also very caring about her patients always.

Cathy provided care for my wife during the day shift. She always had a smile and kind words to share. When I asked for a recliner to use, she searched and was unable to locate one. Instead, she located a cot and I was ever grateful (and comfortable)! In addition to the most excellent care Cathy provided to my wife, she was willing to chat with me in the hallway. Talking with Cathy was not only enjoyable but also very helpful as I was finally beginning to realize how intense my wife's recovery and rehab was going to be. Cathy's conversational manner and extremely positive outlook on life were just what I needed to help me get through a very rough day. Knowing that there are amazing caregivers on staff at AVH such as Cathy makes me proud to be part of this community. I was not the only one to comment on how wonderful Cathy is. My sister was also visiting during the day shift. The first thing my sister told me was how amazing she found Cathy to be. I did not prompt that response; it flowed naturally and was very genuine. My wife was moved that day to 5Tower. I went back to the PCU unit to thank Cathy. She was kind enough to take a break from her changeover briefing to talk to me one last time. I thanked Cathy for her care, selflessness, and compassion.
