She has pledged to always stay and give back to the healthcare system that helped her realize the “American dream”.
Ms. Celia Angeles, BSN, RN was born and raised in the Philippines and emigrated to the United States in 2000 to pursue nursing as a second career. That dream was realized in the spring of 2006 when she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She expresses being forever grateful to Health and Hospitals/ Coler-Goldwater for affording her the opportunity to get her work-related permanent residency and first nursing job in the fall of 2006. Since then, she has pledged to always stay and give back to the healthcare system that helped her realize the “American dream”. Celia’s greatest motivation that drove her to become a nurse is the hands-on experience of applying evidence-based practice coupled with innovations which helps her to heal patients and propels them to live a high-quality and healthy life despite any challenges. She states, “I have never felt more accomplished than when I turned to nursing as my second career. This is the profession where you have unlimited growth and diverse opportunities that no other occupation can offer. Becoming a DAISY Honoree is a testament that hard work and integrity will never go unnoticed.”
