I absolutely feel that Chad is deserving of the DAISY Award. Chad is a Senior Clinical Consultant within CommunityWorks Operations with a wide variety of responsibilities and he is integral to not only our success as an organization, but to the ongoing success of our more than 125 client partners as well.
Within the CommunityWorks model, multiple Critical Access, Community and Specialty hospitals share a domain and many changes made within the domain impact all of those hospitals. As a result, we have a detailed governance process in place regarding how changes are reviewed, approved, communicated and implemented. One of Chad's primary roles is to serve as the clinical voice in our global change management process. He reviews change requests for clinical appropriateness, client impact, as well as to understand if the request might stem from a larger workflow issue that needs review. Often times Chad consults Model Experience for best practice recommendations and content and, by doing so, he exemplifies the corporate imperative of Activate the Model Experience.
For complex changes, we have a Client Council process in place with representation from all of our clients. Chad has ownership of that process and recently redesigned what that engagement looks like for each individual client partner to ensure it continues to be the best use of everyone's time. As a result of that redesign we now have Client Design Councils in place to tackle key workflow issues like nutrition documentation, outpatient wound care, MDRO management, restraint workflow and the consult process. Chad successfully facilitates these design groups to solve problems our client partners are experiencing and to give them a greater sense of ownership in their Cerner EMR.
When new regulatory requirements are released or updated CDC recommendations are announced, Chad often understands the impact before anyone else and ensures we have a plan in place to meet the requirements. Most recently, Chad ensured our clients were covered from the perspective of documentation and alerting for both the Ebola and Zika outbreaks.
In addition to his involvement in global change management, Chad also developed a very successful service offering available to our clients called the Clinical Informatics Bootcamp. The Bootcamp is a four day course covering a variety of topics around EMR effectiveness, efficiency and adoption and Chad has had it certified to offer 16 continuing education credits. He is also working to certify our implementation Super User Training events to offer continuing education credits as well. These are just some of the many examples of ways in which Chad exemplifies the CommunityWorks imperative Enhance Client Value.
Finally, as a key member of the CommunityWorks Operations team, Chad has a Clinical Executive alignment relationship with three of our strategic client partners. This long-term alignment is intended to position Chad as an advocate to ensure each client's success and resolve any pain points they may be experiencing. As part of that, Chad will be looking to increase each client's solution adoption and look for opportunities where they may benefit from additional solutions to improve patient care and outcomes.
Chad truly leads with our client partners, and ultimately their patients, in mind. He is passionate about nursing, informatics and CommunityWorks and is a highly respected member of our team. He embodies both corporate and organizational imperatives in his day-to-day work. With his focus on not just nurses, but physicians, the rest of the care team, and the patient as well, he is working to Advance the Cerner Formula. Every day he is looking for ways we can improve - improve our skills, improve our system, improve the service we provide to our clients, and improve the experience our clients ultimately provide to their patients. He is the living embodiment of Cerner's mission.
