I just want to say that Charlene was such a positive influence in my recovery from being struck by a vehicle. She always had a kind word to say. I did not have anything to look forward to in my life and she gave me something to look forward to; her positive outlook on life, her determination, her joy was contagious, and I was shown on a daily basis that I could have a life again and I could be happy. I had lost all hope and she shared hers with me and gave me many reasons to go out in my life. She did not know I was so lost in misery, hopelessness, and addiction. I had given up. She made me laugh and I smiled every day, and I shared my happiness with others in the hospital. I'm grateful to have met her and want everyone to know she helped me not take my own life and gave me the courage to go on and overcome my obstacles and be happy.
