Charles W
Hutson III
,
BSN, RN
I have spent over 100 days/nights in the hospital both as a patient (12 surgeries) and as a family member. I have been blessed to usually have good caretakers but none to surpass the care and concern displayed by Will Hutson while caring for my father this past week at Baptist Hospital ICU.
As a retired military officer with over 20 years of active service, I have seen the pride, professionalism, and proficiency demonstrated by many experts in their field; but few as accomplished as Will. His firm but gentle demeanor in all situations had a calming effect on my dad and reassured me continuously of what was happening and why, patiently answering my questions until I understood. I can't think of a time when I felt that my dad or I were ever in better hands. The effort Will put forth in not only doing his job but constantly surpassing all standards, sets him noticeably above all others in the same position. If he were in the military I would recommend him for an award based on his outstanding duty performance and a promotion based on his obvious capability to successfully handle higher levels of responsibility.
Will sets and maintains the highest standards in pride, appearance, professional courtesy, nurse-patient interaction, and duty proficiency. He brings much pride and credit to himself and Baptist Hospital.
