Charlotte was our L&D nurse. Over the course of 12 plus hours she patiently, expertly and compassionately cared for my wife. What started as a planned induced birth, quickly escalated into an emergency C-section.
An experienced L&D nurse, Charlotte cared for my wife throughout the 3.5 hours of labor by coaching and assisting my wife throughout the process. She encouraged her and guided her to try different positions and techniques, clearly applying her years of experience in trying to coax my son out for a vaginal delivery. Unfortunately, the baby encountered some issue, and the doctor in consultation with Charlotte decided that my wife needed to have a C-section. Once that decision was made, in less than a minute later I saw Charlotte outfitted in surgical scrubs and her team of nurses prepping and guiding my wife as they transitioned her into the OR. During the surgical procedure, Charlotte was again called on to assist and was there throughout the entire birth.
While clearly a very emotional time for my wife and I, Charlotte was there the whole time from comforting my wife, answering my stupid questions, as well as sharing in the joy of our son's birth. She epitomized all the traits of an experienced medical professional and nurse. She was a compassionate caregiver who exuded confidence and love of her profession in the performance of her job. We can't say enough great things about Charlotte.
