I wanted to share a story that a patient, G, shared with me this weekend as I was doing patient rounds. G was having surgery and as he was waiting to be taken back to the OR. His family had gathered at the OR desk and he was sharing with them the foods that he was looking forward to having as soon as he got home from the hospital and this included bread pudding.
Cherise Becker RN overheard the conversation and then bragged to G about her bread pudding. Surgery went well and G was recovering in the SICU on Sunday when Cherise stopped by to see him. G did not remember Cherise until she stated that she had a gift for him, a nice sized serving of bread pudding! It was a pleasure to see how thrilled this made our patient feel.
G shared this with anyone who had the time to listen. This is the kind of personalized care that makes our hospital great. Thank you Cherise!
