Cheryl is a true team player; she always puts the patients and her colleagues first with her knowledge, compassion and love for nursing. Cheryl always makes sure the patients home care needs are addressed 100%. Cheryl went back to school to get her BSN in nursing and is now in the home stretch. One case in particular was when I observed Cheryl making a distraught daughter who was deciding to either place her mother in a nursing home or take her home with VNACJ Hospice Care. Cheryl provided support, resources, and took the extra time working with the daughter step by step to make sure everything was arranged so the transition home was smooth. She collaborated with other team members about the case and a distraught daughter was so grateful for her compassion, knowledge and support during this difficult time. This nurse always goes the extra mile to make sure the mission statement of VNACJ is carried out.
