I am 53-years-old and was recently admitted to the hospital, with AFIB and Tachycardia. I was there for 12 hours, feeling like my heart would never go back to normal. Cheryl came in to introduce herself and check on me. Because of her kindness, I felt that I could talk to her about the loss of my father. I started to cry, and she shared about something her husband was going through, and perseverance! “You have to keep going,” she said! “Don’t let this win and get the best of you!” My heart went back to normal! When she left my room, I overheard her so bubbly and kind with all she came into contact with! She walked the walk! More than medicine, alright! Kind, Dedicated nurses, with a “Rosie the Riveter” attitude! When you find that, during a pandemic, that’s special. She’s a real person! That will always be, to me, the true definition of a dedicated nurse! Nothing less than outstanding. You can’t get that with a prescription!
