The patient always comes first for my co-worker, Cheryl. She makes sure patients have snacks, drinks, lunches and warm blankets. Whenever and whatever is needed, she will break from her regular duties to help others. She takes over the Chemotherapy Patient Education sessions when the department is heavily scheduled. She advocates on a daily basis for her patients who may be struggling financially, have dietary issues, or insurance issues and she finds someway or someone to help. She is a true leader. She has the ability to handle the most difficult situations and maintains her composure. The lines of communication are always open to all. She is a wealth of knowledge and willing to share it with others. Working outside her comfort zone is an adventure for her.
