My baby girl L was in the NICU from her first day to her last day. We encountered a particular nurse named Chloe Cross, who truly made a difference. Chloe got to know my baby girl on the night shift. Nights were when I had to stay home for my other children, but it was always hard to leave. When I heard about Chloe, it made my heart happy that she enjoyed caring for L and would hold her. She learned the best way to care for L, who was medically complex and took care of her as well as she would her own child.

Toward the end of L’s life, I stayed 24 hours a day, and Chloe just so happened to be our nurse, and you can sense the compassionate vibes. I knew my baby knew when Chloe came on shift, and I would see her turn toward her voice. It was obvious she felt safe and cared for. Chloe was with me and L for the hours leading up to her passing. L was on comfort care, and Chloe did everything she could to keep my sweet baby girl comfortable in her final hours of life. Chloe was sitting with me as much as she could, I never felt alone on such a life changing night. Chloe stayed calm. She showed us care and compassion beyond the job level. I felt like Chloe was part of my daughter’s family. My sweet baby girl was able to pass from this Earth without any pain or worry because of her amazing nurse, Chloe.

Chloe has touched my heart forever. She is the only person in the world who knows what I experienced the night I lost my child. Thank you, Chloe, for being there for us at such a critical time in our lives. Thank you, Chloe!
