Patient Voice: Thank you for caring for my mother as well as being there for me, my family, and friends in our time of need. May God continue to bless you and your Family. When we contacted this family member to hear how Chris impacted the care of the patient and family, here is what she said. “I should start by saying that I am a nurse; I am a Nurse Practitioner. Everything you know goes out the window when your loved one is in this state. I did not share with Chris that I was an NP. He treated my mom like she was his own. He communicated to me perfectly the status of my mom and what was being done to care for her. He updated me and other family members, expressing compassion and knowledge. Our mother’s illness was a shock, a surprise. I appreciate his care. He explained things very well. He demonstrated true empathy and caring, which words truly cannot describe. On the 3rd day, he learned of me being an NP. I very much appreciate the time he took to educate and communicate what was going on so that I could be present with my mother. He is very deserving of this award and recognition. Pray all other nurses are just as caring!”
