Chris greeted our family with the biggest smile. He made sure our son was comfortable and knew everything he was doing (the towel is to clean the germs off your forehead, it will be cold). Not only did he take amazing care of him up to the time of his surgery, he made sure we (the parents) were comfortable and knew what to expect every step of the way. He really made a difficult situation more bearable.

Our son was in PICU for a fractured skull caused by an accidental hit in the head with a golf club. Chris shared his own personal story of sibling injuries, which comforted us as parents and made us laugh for a moment. My son trusted Chris right away, talked to him, answered all his questions and did whatever Chris needed him to do. Chris made sure all of the different doctors involved in my son's care knew we were the parents and helped to get all our questions answered. What could have been a devastating and stressful morning was full of calm and comfort.

All of the PICU nurses were a pleasure to deal with, but Chris' bright, cheery disposition was much needed and appreciated.
