My mom and dad had gone to the beach when my dad, 87, developed N/V and abdominal pain. As my 86 year old mom is on a walker and no longer drives, I was driving to the beach so I could drive them back and straight to Univ ER. Being exhausted, we were grateful to be brought back to a room. We realized quickly that we liked Chris when he came in. He was personable and treated my parents like family. He listened closely to Dad's story and did a physical exam asking questions as he did so. He moved quickly getting an IV started and giving him Zofran. He explained that he would speak with the doctor about the concerns. We felt we were in good hands. He constantly kept us informed explaining the reason for CT and US. The decision was made to admit but we stayed in the ER due to a bed shortage. My mom especially was tired. Chris moved us to a larger room and set up a recliner for her. I was very touched that someone would care about her comfort as well as Dad's. Chris is an amazing nurse and we are so thankful to have had him caring for Dad. He is truly a wonderful representative of the hospital.
