Chrissy made sure that his dignity and comfort were of utmost importance. She was concerned about us as a family, our comfort, and our emotional well-being.
Our 32-year-old son was a patient in ICU for two weeks. He was critical, placed on a ventilator and dialysis, and ended up passing. This all happened very fast. Everything was very frightening to our family as we watched him struggle. Through it all, Chrissy worked diligently to care for him and us as a family. She would explain everything occurring and often more than once to various family members. Chrissy made sure that his dignity and comfort were of utmost importance. She was concerned about us as a family, our comfort, and our emotional well-being. Once he was switched over to comfort measures, and the dialysis stopped, our family stayed with him around the clock to be there during his final moments. Chrissy made sure we were comfortable and had all we needed. Every day her knowledge and skills were evident. There were many days she would go without lunch to provide care for our son. She stood out as a nurse willing to go above and beyond the normal expectations of a nurse. Thank you, Chrissy, for the huge impression you made on us. You were such a blessing to our family during this unexpected, difficult time in our lives.

My brother was admitted into the Ascension St. Vincent ICU in Kokomo. He was struggling with liver failure from his long-lived alcohol addiction, which would soon take his life. M, my 32-year-old brother, was admitted for 13 days being treated by his nurse, Chrissy Landrum. Working for Ascension as an EEG tech all of 2022, I would often run into Chrissy to discuss patient information before starting a study. In those moments working I would hardly sit with Chrissy or chit-chat, unlike the other nurses, I didn't have much of a bond with her. After M was admitted and Chrissy was assigned as his nurse, I finally realized why I never had much communication with her while working the floor, Chrissy never stops. She is always running and giving her full attention to not only the patient but their families as well. Chrissy Landrum is a kind-hearted, wholesome human which attributes to her nursing role, but as a nurse, anyone who encounters her understands she is just as much dedicated to her patients. She took her time explaining everything clearly and diligently, she showed remarkable amounts of compassion to our family and friends, and she even paid close attention to all of us regarding our own mental health. I fully believe that if M wasn't in her hands, our family wouldn't be standing the same right now because she made us all so comfortable in such an overwhelming and stressful time. Chrissy is a true DAISY Nurse. Chrissy Landrum, my family wants to say thank you for everything you did during such a difficult time. God bless people like you, you make the world such a better place.
