A longtime resident of the community came to Decatur Morgan hospital for emergency surgery. She was accompanied by her daughter who is a nurse. Her daughter said, "We were really scared and all I could think of was is there someone qualified to do this surgery at Decatur Morgan or should we go on to the larger hospital 30 miles away?" Through the overwhelming process of trying to decide to stay or go, Christina must have noticed the concern. The daughter went on to say, "When she came in the room, she not only re-explained everything my mother was about to go through to us in language that we could understand but she listened to my concerns and she answered my questions. Christina was kind, caring, and showed us compassion in a moment where we really needed it. Shetook the time with us that we needed to be confident in what was about to happen. She kept reassuring us that DMH was where we needed to be.Through this experience and the advocacy and caring of Christina, I will never doubt the abilities of Decatur Morgan Hospital again."
