Christina always demonstrates her passion for the littlest patients in our hospital by providing outstanding clinical care every day.
Families of Christina's patients appreciate the individualized expert care she offers to their babies. Praises for her care are frequent:
"She took the time to explain things to me and would always call me before giving the baby a bottle or when it was time to breastfeed."
"She was so motherly and nice to work with. We had a wonderful experience."
"She provided great care to our son."
"She was really nice and would always answer our questions."
"She made Mom feel so comfortable."
"She really involved me in the care of my baby and was very good to us. We felt really lucky to have her as our primary nurse. When we weren't able to be at the hospital, Christina would spend a lot of time with our little boy which was a great comfort to us. She knew our baby well, and you could tell she really liked him, even though he could be a bit contrary at times. She was an amazing advocate for him; by knowing him so well, she could represent his needs in rounds and ensure that the team made an appropriate plan for him."
Christina is also one of our outstanding preceptors. The nurses she guides into practice in the NICU comment on the positive learning environment she creates for them. She is considered extremely approachable by the learner and is willing to take the time to explain the why of NICU care. She models exceptional patient and family-centered care, instilling this very important characteristic in our newest nurses. She practices evidence-based care and imparts this same practice in each nurse she mentors in the NICU.
Christina enjoys explaining all aspects of the care provided to NICU families, making sure they understand the ongoing care as well as preparing them to care for their babies upon discharge. She is also committed to teamwork. She readily takes on any assignment needed, and whenever she has time offers assistance to her colleagues.
Christina is an outstanding professional nurse and a strong clinician. We are fortunate to have her as a member of our team.
