She decided the safest and most compassionate choice was to drive the patient home personally. Christina navigated the stress of after-work traffic while ensuring the comfort and safety of a patient who had just received chemotherapy.
I am writing to nominate Christina, the infusion supervisor at Schwarz Cancer Center, for the DAISY Award. Christina exemplifies all the qualities that this award represents: professionalism, dedication, clinical skill, sensitivity, comfort, genuineness, courage, and, most importantly, compassion.

Yesterday, Christina extraordinarily demonstrated these attributes. After a patient’s car service failed to pick them up following their treatment visit, Christina went above and beyond her duties. Despite having a full day, conducting three interviews, and ensuring her team was cared for, she stayed after her shift to help the stranded patient.

Recognizing the urgency and complexity of the situation, Christina communicated with the patient's daughter, the car service, and facility officers to determine the best course of action. She decided the safest and most compassionate choice was to drive the patient home personally. Christina navigated the stress of after-work traffic while ensuring the comfort and safety of a patient who had just received chemotherapy.

This act of kindness and dedication highlights Christina’s unwavering commitment to her patients' well-being. Her willingness to go the extra mile, even outside her professional responsibilities, is a testament to her exceptional character and compassion.

Christina’s actions embody the spirit of the DAISY Award, and I believe she deserves this recognition. Her selflessness and dedication not only provide exemplary patient care but also inspire her colleagues and contribute significantly to the positive environment at Schwarz Cancer Center.
