I have been a patient in the ICU here at Swedish First Hill for approximately 10 days now. Christine has been my nurse for 4 of those days. This is a place I never thought I would end up. I have 3 autoimmune diseases but have been a very independent woman 48 years young. I fiercely guard my ability to do things for myself and found myself in a position where I no longer could manage things independently. I could not use my legs and was very vulnerable. Christine never once took that away from me. She cared for me in the most compassionate way while still allowing me to have my dignity. I truly don't think I would have had such a successful outcome had it not been for this angel in scrubs. She was kind, compassionate, caring and I felt truly had my best interest in mind at all times. She was my lifeline and if she does not receive this award, you should stop giving them out because I truly believe she is most deserving of it! 100%!!
