Christy displayed a true understanding that we are nurses all the time, even when the patient is not direclty in front of us. She understands that we treat the family as well as the patient. She cared for someone she had never met or had contact with.

A staff member requested information for a family member who experienced a loss. Christy provided handouts and pamphlets about early pregancy loss, miscarriage and how to communicate with someone who has had loss. She expressed hope that the person received comfort as well as support during this difficult time.

The staff member expressed how much the materials meant to her and her family. They were talking about their feelings. Christy has no clue how much she meant to this family!
