First, I would like to start by saying I’m a first-time mom who lives alone in Miami, no family here and I have a 4-month-old baby. I have been in the hospital for a week, my daughter was admitted due to norovirus. I was extremely anxious and a nervous wreck. From the moment I met Cindy Alvarez she’s always been extremely nice, patient, attentive and beyond respectful. She has no idea how smooth she has made this hospital visit for me. She’s always 2 steps ahead and is very caring to my daughter. She is exactly what I seek for in a peds nurse and more. She has gone above and beyond for my daughter and me. Cindy is very informative and knowledgeable, there was not a single minute where I doubted Cindy. As stressful as this hospital visit was for me, Cindy was truly a breath of fresh air. Cindy is quick, honest, and more than just a nurse, she treated me like a friend. She cared for my daughter as every mother would hope a nurse would. As mothers we can only hope whoever we let into our child's life is as loving and caring as we would be for our own babies, and Cindy is exactly that. If I could have her as a permanent nurse for my daughter’s entire life, I would pick Cindy in a heartbeat, no questions asked. As a first-time mom there’s a lot I still must learn, and Cindy always gave me the best advice on how to go about certain situations if they ever were to occur with my daughter. Cindy has truly turned this stressful, anxiety driven hospital visit into a very pleasant, peaceful, and relaxing visit. I cannot stress the number of tears I shed before meeting Cindy in this hospital. I hope everyone who enters Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has the absolute pleasure of having Cindy as their nurse for their babies!
