Cindy knew how to talk to my son.
Cindy is the sweetest, most kind, trusting, and knowledgeable nurse that I have ever met. They truly care about their patients. My son was hospitalized for 8 nights. We came to the ER for cold and right ear pain. We ended up being admitted because my son age four swallowed 33 small magnetic beads. It is hard to see your own child in pain or hurt.

When your child is in pain or hurts it is hard to make decisions and do what is right and best for your child. I usually get sad and feel bad, but Cindy talked me through everything and explained everything to me. They told me past stories that they had seen or encountered and explained to me what is best, only if I felt okay with it. They told me stories about their own kid. It’s hard to trust just anyone, I trusted them to tell me what’s best. They are very smart and knowledgeable about everything I asked them. They walked me through the whole process of my kid being “hurt.’ He had to have abdominal surgery. They knew exactly how to do everything the doctor ordered. They walked me through it and explained everything to me. I really trusted them and felt safe with them. I knew they had our best interest.

Cindy knew how to talk to my son. They knew tricks and stories to ease our stress. They made us as comfortable as possible. Always asked if we needed anything. They had an answer to literally every question. Their demeanor was calm and comforting. There were a few times where I was unsure and felt sorry for my kid. Them being a great nurse helped and walked me through it all, giving me advice about what they had seen, heard, or been through. They knew how to make my son smile and happy despite our hospital stay. They made it fun for us. They talked to my son and knew what to do for his pain and used their tricks to remove his adhesive off the sensitive skin on his face. It’s the small things that count.

Cindy gave my son fun goals and surprised him for every goal he met. That made him happy. After their shift, they came into our room and had his bed made with his stuffed dog on it with a sweet positive note and a Buzz Lightyear toy. That was from their heart. We had gone to the café’ so we didn’t get to tell them bye, but when we walked into our room and saw this it made us smile. Even when my son was in a bad or ill mood, they knew what to say and do or not do. They knew exactly what would happen next!

When I didn’t know what to do, I asked them. Of course, I made my own decisions but they made it easier. They’re not only a nurse, but also a parent, so I trusted their judgment. You can’t just do that these days. They are sweet, funny, honest, and very uplifting. They are an all-around awesome nurse! Children's is lucky to have them. They were never in a bad mood or acted tired and took it out on us. They were always nice. They also left my son a galaxy pillowcase. They went the extra mile for us as I’m sure they do that for all their patients.
