She is always positive, responsive, and professional and continually demonstrates a “can-do” approach that gave me confidence that everything was being handled smoothly and effectively
I wanted to drop you a short note to let you know what an outstanding job Nurse CJ Flores is doing to care for me as I recover from my post-op left shoulder replacement on 3 East. Over the past 12 years, I have had all my major joints replaced, so I’ve had the opportunity to interface with many nurses, and I must tell you CJ is one of the very best. What distinguishes CJ is all the little extra things she continuously does throughout her shift without being asked. As an example, one morning my spirits were low attributed to the normal post-op discomfort. She immediately picked up on my mood change and, without being called, took the time to come to my bedside, ask what was troubling me, and articulated all the procedures performed in order to do my joint replacement, and what I was feeling was perfectly normal. My mood immediately changed. Please know what was noteworthy was her communication skills. Being in the computer industry, I always felt that someone who could explain a difficult subject to a person with little knowledge of the topic truly possessed a gift. She has that gift as evidenced by the skillful way she articulated the various aspects of my surgery in a language that a ‘non-medical’ person like myself could easily understand. However, what distinguishes CJ and what I feel places her a cut above is her outstanding attitude. She is always positive, responsive, and professional and continually demonstrates a “can-do” approach that gave me confidence that everything was being handled smoothly and effectively and that I am in good hands here at Mayo and on my ‘road to recovery’. Lastly, in summary, I feel CJ is a valuable asset to your nursing staff as she represents you very well, and I am sure you are proud to have her on your team!
