My dad had a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery and was in the ICU for five days. They kept my dad sedated after the surgery, as there was a lot of damage done from the heart attack. For two days, Claire worked tirelessly to help my dad's body to stabilize and heal. In the end, the doctors determined that my dad needed more support and transferred him to the medical center to hook him up to an ECMO machine to support his heart. Claire rode in the ambulance with him, determined to see him through safely. She stayed with him until a few hours after her shift ended, and we truly believe he is alive because of her commitment to caring for my dad. We are so thankful for her.
