Claudia was a phenomenal nurse. A true subject matter expert and someone who made no excuses. Since arriving at the hospital, my biggest concern was discovering my mother had not received any pain medication from 2300-0900. My mother was in a car accident and had fractured ribs and fractures in her spine. She was removed from her nerve block since she had an MRI and had been notified that she would not be issued another one for three days due to the hospital. With that being said, the pain medicine being provided by the nurse is extremely critical. When I brought this matter to Claudia, she was quick to take ownership of her night staff and establish a plan moving forward to ensure my mother’s pain would be limited, but, most importantly, that she did everything in her power to help out. Throughout the day, she made her presence known, ensuring she could do everything in her power for us and explaining in detail any questions we had. I am extremely grateful for Claudia and hope that moving forward, all nurses operate as selfless as she does. I can think of no one more deserving of the DAISY award, my family would undoubtedly approve this nomination for Claudia as she represents everything the family values in a nurse.
