Colette is absolutely impressive in how she manages the high-stress position of scheduling the surgeries and instruct us patients for pre-op. Her instructions and explanations are given in a very easy to understand way and follow wording. She is very detailed and doesn't miss a thing. Her personality is warm, not dry at all while going through the routine instructions. She has a great sense of humor and doesn't hesitate to take extra time to spend with the patient to ensure good contact and mutual understanding; I find this important for preparing the patient for the upcoming surgery.
Colette goes beyond her job duties by actually caring and following through with the words that come from her heart. Scheduling the operating rooms at the LBVA is certainly a daunting, thankless job and veterans do slip through the cracks behind the busy doors of the system. That's just not so with Colette's scheduling. She doesn't miss anything and as a professional patient headed for surgery number 26, I'm one to know. Colette is so good it's all most irritating. It's that she does care, she does what she says she's going to do and as the receiving veteran, you know it!
