I had to tell the hospital how much I love the place and most of all how much I love the staff. I don't remember some of my days at the hospital. I do remember the day I was aware of what was happening and that I was at Aurora Lakeland. I woke up and looked at the calendar and it was one year from October 22nd when my husband had passed away in ICU. After his death, I nominated Ami for the DAISY Award, as I was so impressed by her caring for my husband.

I worked at the Old St. Catherine's Hospital in Kenosha for 20 years, but not in the nursing profession. But like St. Catherine's, Aurora Lakeland is a family run hospital. With all staff caring about what they do to make the patient's stay a positive experience.

During my stay at Aurora Lakeland I met another nurse who was so caring and professional. Her name is Corina Beck and she helped me through my rough times, with her love and caring for me. It is a shame that all the staff couldn't receive an award for all they do to make Aurora Lakeland a place people want to come to when they are sick. Both my daughter and I loved Corina's wonderful accent, the bounce in her step when she came into the room, and even loved the fact that when she wasn't my nurse that day she always stopped in at the end of her shift to give a goodnight hug and kiss. Her personality overwhelmed me and I know that had a lot to do with my quick recovery.
