Cortnie loved what she did, and it showed in her gentle touch, her kind smile, and her genuine dedication to our comfort and understanding.
The nurse who cared for us was someone truly special. Cortnie's presence brought a sense of calm and reassurance, and her dedication to her work was evident in every interaction. She approached each task with compassion, treating us not just as patients, but as people with unique needs and concerns. One of the things we admired most was her respect for our autonomy. Before she did anything, she always asked for our consent. Even for routine procedures, she would say, ‘“ Would it be okay if I…” , making sure we felt in control of our own care. This simple act of asking made us feel valued and respected, as if we were partners in our own healing process. She also took time to explain each step of her care. Whether it was a blood test, an IV placement, or a new medication, she made sure we understood exactly what was going to happen. Her explanations were clear, patient, and reassuring, which took away much of our anxiety. She didn’t rush through details, but answered every question we had, no matter how small. In her work, we could see not only skill, but a deep passion for nursing. Cortnie loved what she did, and it showed in her gentle touch, her kind smile, and her genuine dedication to our comfort and understanding. This nurse taught us that trust and compassion were just as important as any medical skill, and it was her devotion to these values that made her unforgettable.
