My first treatment was 1 year and 8 months ago. I'm not going to lie, I was scared to death. I got called back, they put me and my family in this room that had windows, I thought, "Oh how nice," then I heard, "Good morning, my name is Cory. What's your date of birth and name?" As I heard his voice, there and then I knew I was in good hands. He spoke with compassion; he spoke to me as if I had been going there for years.
As he started my chemo he said if I feel anything to let him know right away. Well, I did feel something. I called for Cory (actually screamed) and he came right to me, as well as 4 other nurses did too. They gave me Benadryl, and all was well. I made him promise me I wasn't dying. He stayed in my room until treatment was over.
Since my first treatment with Cory over a 1 year/8 months and he was still so compassionate, caring, understanding, he truly is an amazing nurse. I thought he was just being so nice to me on my 1st visit but that is just how Cory is fantastic!
