Courtney helped me navigate the final few weeks of my pregnancy and first few weeks of my newborn daughter's life.
As a fellow nurse, she encouraged me to take control of my own care and speak up when I did not feel like my needs were being met by my current physician care team. She went above and beyond to connect me with people and resources that could provide me with the information I needed to make the best decisions for myself and my unborn baby.
She provided me with the support and tools I needed in the days prior to my delivery regarding nursing my baby despite the obstacles we both knew I would need to overcome. She encouraged me to set goals and strive to achieve them.
When I was inpatient she was at my bedside to teach me and my husband how to feed our baby given our disadvantages. She gave me not only the supplies I needed but also the knowledge and the encouragement to make it the best delivery experience I have had with my 3 children.
Such an important day in my life, and the weeks surrounding it, could have been dramatically different had Courtney not spoken up for me and encouraged me to be proactive. She held my hand the whole way through and I am forever grateful.
