I want to take the time to recognize the outstanding care my dad’s nurse, Courtney, provided while in the CVICU. The skill set and quick response to low BP were stellar, but moreover, the time she took explaining every step to my dad was outstanding. This is the key factor for my nomination is that she was so gentle, allowing him to talk about my mom, who passed in 2018. She never rushed the conversation – she not only heard him speak, but she listened to him – this is often lacking in the care provided – not with Courtney; my dad calls her “red.” Her care changed and impacted his opinion of Memorial Hermann drastically. Thank you, Courtney, for everything, for I know my dad is not an easy patient to care for. We appreciate you more than we can say. Bless you, Bless you, Bless you!
