This group of educators and leaders within the Children's Physicians Group worked with the CDC to implement the COVID-19 vaccine at the Center for Advanced Pediatrics with the program, Vaccines for Children. This team went above and beyond to serve our vulnerable patients who need the COVID vaccine and made it readily available to them when they saw their care team. The team went through many hoops and difficulties to get the vaccine at this location. In addition, they implement a new process to have a standard location for the vaccines where multiple clinics could come and receive the vaccines for their patients. They put patient safety at the forefront of this project to help bring the COVID vaccine to them. Many patients were able to receive the vaccine in a safe environment. They eased the anxiety of many families with chronically ill children by keeping them safe. It was a major effort working with a government organization, pharmacy, the system, and leaders throughout CHOA but they were able to get it done!
