Cristina literally saved my life. Her timely intervention is the reason my son and I are alive today. I had signed up for the healthy beginnings program in my 2nd trimester after a traumatizing 1st trimester as a result of severe hyperemesis gravidarum. At almost eight months, I developed preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome. I didn't know this was what was wrong with me. Cristina came to my house and kept following up with me on my blood pressure numbers which were scarily high. On the day I got admitted to the hospital, Cristina again came over to my house to check my blood pressure. She immediately called the Nurses and Midwives department to report my numbers and her concern. She promised me that someone will get back to me and they did. I was called to come in for observation. By that night, the doctor was certain I had severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. From then on the wheels were set in motion to ensure my and the baby's safety.
Cristina kept close tabs on me after the surgery and for the month my baby was in the NICU. She ensured I got the support and help I needed on a timely basis. She remains my wealth of information on things concerning the baby and even general welfare of my family. I owe Cristina a lot hence the reason for this nomination. Cristina truly is a DAISY.
