She was always a phone call away, always returned calls, and helped with medical questions while resolving business problems.
My heart compels me to nominate Crystal because she embodies everything a nurse can be at their best. From the moment we met her, during the 2 ½ years my husband was in her care battling myelofibrosis, including his final days, she drove a long distance to bless our family! With sincere condolences at Mr. D’s funeral visitation, she has been, and always will be, God’s angel gift to my husband and our family. Every day, I pray for her and thank God that my husband was so blessed by her devoted, heartfelt, and excellent care, and that she blesses so many other Veterans and families each day. Through her, physical and emotional war scars are healed.
Though Mr. D’s health worsened over time and it was difficult to make long trips to Roudebush and endure long days, Crystal was always our bright spot! She was always a blessing! I could write a book detailing her amazing skill, devoted care, and all the ways she exceeded everyone’s expectations! She was always a phone call away, always returned calls, and helped with medical questions while resolving business problems. She never failed us and worked tirelessly with her heart of gold to serve every Veteran and family. She loves, respects, and honors all Veterans and their services and sacrifices. She feels honored to help and serve them!
We went through a terrible ordeal trying to get my husband to Roudebush for care in his final days. He desperately wanted to pass away in their care. Crystal spent hours on the phone with another hospital to obtain his release from their ER so we could transport him to Roudebush. His passing there was an answer to prayer. After he died, I thanked the doctor for his excellent care and praised Crystal to him. He responded that, throughout his long career in medicine, he had never seen anyone like her; she is the best nurse in every way he has ever seen.
