In Superwoman fashion, Crystal is able to balance her full-time job, full-time studies, and full-time mommying in an admirable manner. In addition to all of her obligations, she ensures she makes time for her staff members and makes it known that she is readily available and that her door is always open. Having a great role model in a leadership role as a staff nurse is important. She is always encouraging and makes it known that we all have the potential to do more and be more as bedside nurses. In fact ½ the unit is back in school for their masters in nursing. Knowing that she has been in the same situation in regards to school, work and family, makes it feel as if she knows exactly how we feel sometimes and she always has great advice for work-life balance because it is so important. Crystal is the epitome of a great nurse leader and everyone should know about her efforts, successes, achievements, and how her staff truly feels about her.
