Crystal was nominated by a scout troop leader visiting our area. This is what he tells us…
Our scout troop came to Lake Chelan for a high adventure trip. On the day we had reservations to go whitewater rafting on the Wenatchee River, one of our boys with diabetes reported problems that resulted in him coming in to ER while the others went on the trip.
Crystal was so good with J and made him feel welcomed, and related to him. She is a former river rafting guide and was able to talk to him about rafting and the local rivers - and to let him know it wasn't a great time of year to run that river and he wasn't missing much.
Later that day, the scoutmaster called to check on J and told him the river had been a disappointment - Crystal was right!
We really appreciate her friendly, personal manner - she made a bad day for J much better.
