I work as a nurse in Little Rock for an electrophysiologist. We have a patient with an infected pacemaker who needs surgical intervention to have his system removed. During the time our patient awaits surgery, Dana has gone to the patient's home daily to change his dressing and clean his wound. The patient has no one to help with his health care. We got him scheduled for surgery, and because of his type of insurance plan, he did not qualify for transport all the way to Little Rock. His one relative will be out of town at the time we have availability in the OR. Dana has offered to drive the patient 1.5 hours away so we can proceed with this life-saving surgery. The nurse is so selfless and displays the compassion and true caring we should all strive for. Our whole team feels she is a DAISY Nurse. She has demonstrated true caring beyond healthcare to our patient.
