Excellence is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. Dana Kennedy epitomizes that statement! During our lengthy stay at Cook Children's NICU, we had the privilege of being one of Dana's patients. She has displayed repeatedly what it means to be an ideal NICU nurse. She is confident, poised, and extremely calm in tense situations. She displays such care, compassion, and concern when handling our grandson.
Not only does Dana do a great job of taking care of him, but she also takes great care of us as well! She takes the initiative and time to explain and educate us in all aspects, all while maintaining professionalism and conveying doctor's orders effectively and making sure we understand. If we ask her a question that she is unable to answer immediately, she will research or ask until she is able to provide us with a thorough answer. She has made such a positive impact in our lives during the 5 ½ months we've been in the NICU. She will be in our hearts for a lifetime. Our most heartfelt thanks to her! We love you, Dana!

Dana is an amazing nurse. She not only does a great job taking care of my son, but she makes us feel so comfortable. She always makes sure we are well informed and never gets impatient when we ask a thousand questions. We look forward to the weekends because we enjoy her presence.
