It is impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of a nurse Daniel is and what he contributes to the Ortho/Neuro floor. For 15 years, Daniel has been a devoted nurse to his patients and coworkers on 4Tower. He is a true leader and someone who goes above and beyond for his patients. All of us on 4Tower like to joke that catching Daniel is a challenge and one is better off just standing still waiting for him to come back around the unit. He is always on the move and is a multitasker, a skill useful for nursing.
Daniel has a great sense of humor that helps make everyday nursing challenges tolerable. He is very knowledgeable and his skills as a charge nurse are admirable. He is a wonderful role model and someone all of us, seasoned and new nurses alike can learn from.
Daniel is very professional and always good at communicating with patients and understanding their concerns. He is also very caring and compassionate towards our patients and their family. We have heard patients describe him as an "amazing" nurse and the "nicest" person. We have yet to meet a patient that does not think Daniel is the "best". Something we all have to live up to!
Overall, Daniel's leadership and compassion have impacted many patients, families, and team members. We are honored to have known him, worked with him and learned from him. He is a role model we all look up to and respect. He truly demonstrates daily what Florence Nightingale envisioned a kind and compassionate nurse should be.
