We had a young mother who came to clinic with her 7-year-old autistic son. During the nursing interview, the son was quite interruptive, not facetiously, but due to his autism. Therefore, while I was doing my visit with the patient, Daniella took the son on a "tour" of the center. The young boy was so excited to get to see the back of the clinic and walk through some of the halls. Daniella was cautious to avoid any HIPPA violations and simply walked him around and introduced him to some of our medical assistants and other nurses. I spoke to my patient today, and she told me her son has been bragging to everyone that he got a tour of the center, and it really meant a lot to him. This insightful and heartfelt action truly shows that Daniella is extraordinary.
