I am so grateful for Danielle, she truly demonstrates the AdventHealth service standards, specifically "keep me safe and love me!"
I was admitted to the Labor & Delivery unit at 32 weeks for what was expected to be an overnight observation of my unborn baby, J. My nurse, Danielle, was in the process of completing the admission paperwork when J's heart rate dropped to 50. Danielle quickly and calmly helped me change my position in an effort to help his heart rate increase. When these different maneuvers did not work she very calmly explained that she was going to press a button that was going to make a lot of noise and a lot of people would come to the room and that she didn't want me to be scared but that she needs to get additional help. Within seconds the staff assist alarm was going off and at least 15 people came running into the room. Danielle quickly described the situation to the doctor who confirmed J's heart rate was 48. The decision was made to deliver J via a stat c-section. Although the rest of the story is blurry (I was quickly placed under general anesthesia). J was born about 5 minutes later via a stat c-section. The entire team was incredible, and I wish I knew everyone's name so I could say "thank you" for saving J's life. I am so grateful for Danielle, she truly demonstrates the AdventHealth service standards, specifically "keep me safe and love me!" Her ability to make me feel loved, cared for, and safe through her actions and communication is so appreciated and I will never forget her.
