She somehow was able to get the vouchers and we were able to leave with ALL five of the medications our son needed for 3 days without needing to pay for them.
Our 9-year-old son E had surgery to have Magec Rods put on his spine. We are from Las Vegas, NV, and were happy to hear that he was approved for discharge on Sat. The only thing we were worried about was our insurance covering the medication prescribed by the doctor in the hospital pharmacy. Danielle took action with force to help us out. She got on the phone with pharmacy and found out our insurance does not cover the meds here in UT and we have a very long drive and needed them in between our driving time. She then called the social workers to try and get us vouchers-turns out there aren’t many social workers at the hospital on the weekends to help out with vouchers. Danielle called the pharmacy back and told her they could give us a 3-day supply for $36 only for the two pain medications. We were more than willing to pay that, but Danielle kept trying. She somehow was able to get the vouchers and we were able to leave with ALL five of the medications our son needed for 3 days without needing to pay for them. Thanks to Danielle our preparation for discharge was stress-free and we were able to just focus on the well-being of our son. We appreciated her so much and she is an excellent nurse, patient, and family advocate!
