Danielle Holbrook goes above and beyond on a daily basis to provide support for her team so they have what they need to provide exceptional care to their patients. The Maternal Child department recently went through a leadership change and Danielle stepped up to make sure the staff felt supported, establishing a trusting relationship. Additionally, Danielle has developed a strong working relationship with the providers which allows for consistent collaboration and support for the staff. Danielle ensures her staff is involved and aware of best practice for their patient population. Danielle has a large number of staff members who participate in Clinical Ladder, as she supports encourages staff involvement with performance improvement projects.

I feel that Danielle has many traits of a good role model. She is trusted by staff to be fair, consistent, honest and will stand behind her staff 100%. She is accountable and positive about her vision of what she would like to accomplish in the future on the unit and has the persistence to deal with obstacles. Danielle is well respected by staff and physicians in our department. After 5 months as the interim nurse manager, and now the "official" nurse manager she has approached every day with enthusiasm for a vision to provide staff with the tools and an environment to provide extraordinary care on the Maternal Child Unit here at Mercy Hospital. She is a true DAISY Nurse Leader.
