Darla has 25 years of service with our diverse patient population between her time in HFA and at Hennepin Health Service. For more than 5 years Darla has devoted her time to our most fragile patients, our seniors. She has worked with our seniors in clinic at the former Parkside Senior Care Clinic, the CSC and Brooklyn Park Clinic, in the Extended Care Department office, and in the field by going to patient's homes with community paramedics to give Covid-19 Vaccinations. Darla is kind, caring, and compassionate in her dealings with our patients and well-deserving of this award. A few examples of her clinical skills, compassionate care and exemplary service: 1) Coordinates the home visiting program for provider visits to homebound elders with patience, attention to detail, and by maintaining relationships with families and getting things done using the resources available. 2. Advocated for COVID-19 vaccines for homebound patients and with the community paramedics, administered vaccines to homebound patients in our program by going to their homes. 3). Uses her clinical skills in the Senior Care outpatient clinics and never conveys frustration. 4).
