Dawn has been a calming spirit since my very first interaction with her. She loves her job, which is evident from the detail and time she invests in getting to know each patient as a person and not just a name on a chart. Over the past few months, I suffered two devastating miscarriages back-to-back. Even when the symptoms did not look promising as I was losing both, Dawn never gave up on each pregnancy, full of optimism and positive light, encouraging me until the bitter end. When the losses were confirmed, Dawn went out of her way to check on my mental health and well-being, offering kindhearted advice while being honest with me, even when the news or advice was not easy for me to accept. I trust Dawn as if she is a longtime friend, which stems from the ethos she carries, both professionally and as a mother who has endured her own painful experience on the journey to become a mom. We need more people like Dawn working in the infertility department. Sometimes patients just need that hug or comforting smile, especially when the road has been anything but easy. Dawn always offers both and is as consistent as the day is long. I sometimes find myself getting emotional thinking about the day I will no longer need to visit the infertility department in Point Loma, as that means my chapter of working with this incredible person will come to a close. Nonetheless, I am grateful for every experience I have had with Dawn and know she has made an impact on hundreds of others just like me. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, Dawn, for your wisdom, love, patience, and friendship. Your kindness, dedication to your craft, and care toward your patients extend well beyond the physical days you see them. Memories and experiences like these will be cherished forever.
