Our son was admitted to the pediatric unit and Debbie was our nurse throughout our entire stay. She went above and beyond in every way imaginable. She stayed compassionate, even when we were irrational (as parents sometimes get when their child is admitted to the hospital, especially when they work at the same hospital). I can remember the first night. She spent at least 30 minutes listening to our questions and answering them in a way that made our stay more comfortable, but also seemed genuinely compassionate (even when those questions were asked after 48 hours of no sleep). Regardless, she continued to help us and make us feel at home during our two-night stay. She consistently stayed forward thinking and attempting to utilize least restrictive care when possible for the benefit of our child, evidenced by trying to increase PO intake to attempt to avoid an IV. She continued to remain our nurse for the next two days and built rapport with our family and our child. Our stay remained comfortable, even under the most uncomfortable circumstances. She went above and beyond when we asked her to do anything. She also kept a positive attitude and a smile on her face whenever we would see her. She provided exceptional medical care to our child and was able to give him an IV on the first try (when it took numerous pokes from other medical professionals from all over the hospital). We cannot thank you enough for your efforts and making our stay as nice as possible. You are an incredible nurse and the hospital is lucky to have you on board.
