Deborah Barreras is extraordinary in her commitment to care and compassion for our patients.
Her current position takes her into several Imaging departments, each with its own unique nursing needs. Deborah is able to adapt to those varied needs without missing a beat. She may go from one department to another several times a day providing great nursing care while maintaining a great working relationship with the staff in each area she visits.
Deborah was instrumental in establishing a trusting relationship with the Cardiologists as we implemented the Cardiac CTA program in CT. She has achieved this by going the extra step in being sure the patients have been properly screened, prepped and have had the proper medication given or withheld. Since the program started, there have been several changes to the processes and day and hours offered for the procedure. Deborah has supported those changes and made changes to her work schedule to see that we met the needs of the patients and physicians alike.
Deborah also provides pre and post-procedure care in our IR departments. She has filled in for the regular nursing staff by covering for vacations, call outs and helping when there have been unexpected high patient volumes.
Deborah always supports the needs of the Imaging department, always having the best interest of the patient in mind, she is truly a team player.
