I am currently experiencing intense anxiety over the health of my husband, who has had multiple heart attacks and many surgeries. Since the evening of my admission, I have tried several times to reach my husband, but each time was sent to his voicemail. About 20 hours after my admission, I still had been unable to reach him, and at this point, Deb noticed I was really starting to panic. She took me aside and offered to help. We went to a private room; she retrieved my cell phone, which allowed me to telephone and text other family members. I was finally able to reach my husband, and when I heard his voice, I sobbed with relief. It was such a simple act of kindness, but it meant so much to me. Knowing he was okay, I could finally put my fears to rest and focus on getting the help I needed.
